Malek is Averda’s CEO. A trained engineer, he joined Sukkar Engineering in 1994 and became CEO of the newly consolidated Averda Group in 2000, leading the company’s international expansion. Malek is a champion of a more sustainable approach to waste management and a founding member of the Platform for Accelerating the Circular Economy.
Rabih leads Averda’s global operations and several important support functions including procurement. He joined Averda in 2002 with a degree in mechanical engineering, and spent several years moving through the ranks on the waste treatment side of the business before becoming Managing Director of Waste Treatment Operations in 2016. In 2019 he was appointed Vice President of Operations where he led development of our new operating model focused on digital agility and data-driven decision-making.
Samir joined Averda in 2017. An engineering graduate originally, he holds an MBA in Finance and has decades of senior corporate finance roles, primarily in the global shipping industry.
Mazen has been with Averda since 2009 and is responsible for leading Averda’s business development, mergers and acquisitions. He has over 25 years of experience in commercial development across a variety of industries and emerging markets.
Bringing 18 years of HR strategy and business transformation experience, Lisa has designed and implemented solutions around the employee lifecycle for Fortune 50 organisations, as well as for SMEs in developed and emerging markets across diverse industries. Lisa has responsibility to lead Averda’s overall human resources strategy, drive a talent-focused company culture, and support the needs and aspirations of Averda’s 14,000+ employees.
Duncan is an experienced, British-trained corporate and projects lawyer and formerly a partner with Allen & Overy LLP. Much of his career has been spent in emerging markets, including two decades spent in the Middle East. As General Counsel, he leads Averda’s in-house legal team and sits on the Executive Committee advising senior management on legal-related matters affecting the Group
